Deathcon event site features
Hello survivors, in today's blog we are going to talk about all the wonderful amenities and arrangements located at Camp Woodhaven, the chosen venue for this year's Deathcon. This post should serve as a guide to help you make your travel arrangements and plan what you need to bring for this spectacular event.
Site map
Camp Woodhaven is run by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania and is normally a summer camp with a focus on equestrian activities for young girl scouts, however this May it will be transformed into a location known as the Fire Base N.V.O., a Black Tide Hunter Outpost, facing off against a grave Raider threat.
In the next few sections we are going to talk about, parking arrangements, camp site availability, amenities, and cooking arrangements, please join me on this virtual talkthrough of our Deathcon site.
103 Camp Rd, Pine Grove, PA 17963
Parking: NO RV’s ALLOWED ON SITE
Camp Woodhaven normally operates as an away camp for girl scouts and as such does not have large traditional parking pavement this is leading us to institute several policies about cars when they arrive for the event. We will have enough parking for each individual to bring their own vehicle; however, we do encourage carpooling for the majority of our attendees if possible. When you arrive on site a parking director and various signs will direct you as to where to go please only follow the director and signs directions and do not drive on any grass unless directed to do so.
Since we will be parking on grass that is not intended for long-term heavy vehicle usage no RVs or heavy campers will be allowed to park on site to put simply RVs are not allowed to be brought to deathcon in 2026 and will be turned away at the gate.
No RV’s Allowed
You will be able to drive your vehicle all the way up to the various camping sites and allowed to unload before removing your vehicle to the appropriate parking area we are asking all players to please unload their cars fully at the beginning of the event and do not venture to or move your cars after parking, unless there is an emergency in which case please find staff for assistance in retrieving your vehicle from the parking area and exiting the event safely. No vehicles except for those that have been given pre-approval due to their specific nature of fitting the genre will be allowed to stay on site past game on.
Camping:
Camp Woodhaven has cots, on floor mattresses, bunks and a number of varied sleeping arrangements in the different sites around the camp. We are going to go over a few of them now and I've included pictures to give a better idea. The site has a capacity of 360 overnight guests and more than enough space for those folks to not feel crowded.
Tenting platforms:
See on Map:
Whispering pines
Timber Ridge
Shady Wood
Robins Den
Woodhaven is populated by 60 (single tent) platforms and 2 large tenting platforms (6 tents each) . These large canvas tents are preset up so you'll be able to move right in for your post-apocalyptic journey. These tents are equipped with cots and bunks and are rather well insulated and fully waterproof. Each tent has 4 cots inside.
Pioneer houses:
These tiny house inspired lean to Huts aren't fully sealed but are well insulated and many have shutters as well as front curtain doors these 10 units sleep multiple people and are the perfect base setup for those looking to camp in genre areas near to the action this Camp will serve as our main black tide Hunter encampment and as such is subject to Raider attack at all times these accommodations are perfect for those who are looking for total immersion and a constant threat to their characters.
Conestoga Wagons:
These covered wagons each sleep six and there are six wagons on the site arranged in a circle around a fire pit. This Rover style camp (though you need not be a Rover to stay here) is at the far end of camp and the closest to Ops and the shower house for those looking for a truly authentic experience of camping out of your Caravan for the weekend this is the site for you
Kutz Heim:
Good time is a large building with working bathrooms and a full kitchen with refrigerator as well as fireplace, outdoor seating areas and mattress on floor accommodations. Individuals requiring a quiet sleeping space or those that wish to camp in a fully out of character environment should look to one of the 40 available spaces in this building. Access back to the play space from Kutz Heim is located along a flat paved trail. Players are encouraged to bring their own cots or other sleeping pads as needed but as seen in the photo a large number of mattresses will be provided for those without.
Bringing your own tent:
Players are allowed to bring their own tents however only genre tents that fit the aesthetic of dystopia Rising will be allowed to be set up within the visible area around the play space a second area on the other side of the tree line from the main play space will be made available for non-genred tent camping. Again RVs and heavy campers will not be allowed on site at all
Other features of the site:
Shower House:
A large shower building with great water pressure
Bird Song:
This raised platform is one of the unique features of the site and will be used as the centerpiece of one of our main events during the weekend. More information will be released on Thursday.
The Dining Hall and Industrial Kitchen:
The Dining Hall will be in use as a mod space the whole event. We can’t wait to have you all take part in this deeply atmospheric horror experience. On the back side of this build is a walk-in freezer that will be available for all players to store food items until needed. The kitchen in this building is reserved for our meal plan chefs alone but fear not. There are several other kitchens available around the site and every building has power for kettles, air fryers, or microwaves.
Staff House:
This building has been reserved for use as Game Operations and our costuming department.
The Yurt:
This camping building is reserved for event staff and cast
Cooks Cabin:
This cabin is reserved for event staff and cast
Fire Pits and Fire Places:
The site has fire pits in all camping areas and several more in central areas. Almost every building has a fireplace or wood burning stove. To use a fire pit or fireplace a player must get a marked fire bucket from the Post Office Logistics guide. The person getting the bucket is taking responsibility for fire monitoring and safety. No fires may be left unattended and must be fully extinguished when no longer in use. In addition after using any fireplace the ashes must be swept into the attached ash bucket and taken outside and disposed of.
The Pavilion:
This area will be the site of the concerts and market on Thursday of the event. As well as mod area Friday and Saturday. This Building also is the location of 2 heated bathrooms and our “Decomp Space” for players needing a break.
So that’s the basics of Camp Wood Haven
