Prepare for the Wasteland: Content Warnings for Deathcon

Greetings, Survivors.

As we draw closer to the annual Network event, the air is getting thicker and the shadows are growing longer. Deathcon: "Older than Gods" promises to be one of our most immersive and harrowing chapters yet.

To ensure everyone has the best possible experience while navigating the apocalypse, we want to provide a clear map of the Content Warnings for this event. We believe in high-immersion horror, but we also believe in informed consent. Please review the following locations and themes so you can calibrate your play accordingly.

Site-Wide Hazards

The following elements are fundamental to the atmosphere of "Older than Gods" and should be expected anywhere on the event grounds:

  • Extreme Violence: Expect high-intensity combat and grim scenarios.

  • Disease & Omni Plague: While the Omni Plague specifically is an opt-in mod only, general themes of disease permeate the site.

  • Kidnapping & Ritual Sacrifice: These are active plot elements that can occur in any public space.

  • Smoke, Fog, & Fake Blood: We will be using fog machines and liberal amounts of stage blood on NPCs to bring the grit to life.

  • Being Eaten Alive: The threats of the wastes are hungry. This theme is present throughout the narrative.

Location-Specific Warnings

If you are sensitive to certain triggers, please take note of these specific zones:

A Note on Safety & Consent

At Dystopia Rising, your out-of-game well-being is our priority.

  • Opt-In Content: The Omni Plague is strictly opt-in. If you do not wish to engage with this specific mechanic, you don't have to.

  • Safety Mechanics: Remember to use our standard "Check-In" and "OK" hand signals if a scene feels like it's pushing your personal limits.

  • The "Make good choices" Rule: If a specific area (like the spider-infested Morgue) is a "no-go" for you, you are always encouraged to steer your character in a different direction.

Deathcon is coming. Some things are older than gods and they are rarely kind. Prepare yourselves, stay safe, and we’ll see you in the wastes.
