Transmission Received: Casting Call for Deathcon ‘26

Welcome Survivor.

We are currently looking for dedicated individuals to step into the boots of Casted Roles for our upcoming National event. These aren't your average "shamble and die" zombies, these are the pivotal characters, the moral dilemmas, and the antagonists that drive the heartbeat of our narrative.

If you've been looking for a place to apply to become a guide for Dystopia Rising: DeathCon 2026 team, congrats! This is the place! Here you can apply to become the thing that scares your friends at game, aka a Guide. We are committed to running a unique and vibrant experience that the players of Dystopia Rising will never forget! but to do that we need you!

What We’re Looking For

Being part of the cast is a unique way to experience the game. We need players who are ready to dive deep into the grit of the post-apocalypse. We are looking for:

Reliability: You are a pillar of the weekend’s story. We need folks who show up on time and ready to play.

Immersive Acting: Whether you're playing a desperate settler or a cold-blooded raider, we want you to stay in the moment.

Collaborative Spirit: You’ll be working closely with the Storytelling team to ensure the players have an unforgettable (and perhaps terrifying) experience.

Guides are the folks who put in extra time and effort to deliver a top tier experience at game. Namely by scaring the pants off their friends in the woods. The DeathCon guide team falls into 4 distinct categories: Settings (makeup, costuming, props & where we store the stuff), Operations (Setting up mods, and making sure the game is running behind the scenes), Rules (Runs mods, and does rules checks on players in game) and Logistics (cards, crafting, and Public Works).

The Commitment

Playing a casted role often comes with specific expectations. Before you fill out this form, please keep the following in mind:

Costuming: While we provide some monster makeup and specific props, we encourage casted players to bring their own "wasteland-chic" basics to help elevate the visual story.

Narrative Flexibility: Stories evolve. We need people who can roll with the punches (metaphorically!) if a plot thread takes an unexpected turn.

The "Vibe": We prioritize a safe, inclusive environment. You’ll be expected to uphold our community standards while portraying even the most villainous characters.

The Perks:

Casted players will receive 1 free build and $10 off their ticker per hour of expected casting

Each member of the guide team receives some specific perks. (Along with getting to be the one who traumatizes their friends).

4 hour Guide NPC ticket $120.00, with 4 extra build for free (that free build is valued at $60!)

8 hour Guide NPC ticket $80.00, with 8 extra build for free (the free build is valued at $90!)

Please answer the questions honestly. We want to match your specific talents, whether they lie in high-octane combat, intense emotional drama, or unsettling creature work, to the perfect role.
