Special DRPA Surprises and Systems:
The Rig means to start new and prosper
This region could be perfect for The Rig and it’s people but many concerning signs need to be addressed. The sea floor head has been sounded and strange returns show a veritable ship grave yard. Unless The Rig whishes to join them the story of these ships last days must be uncovered. The event’s of the main land have not gone unnoticed and the rumors for disaster in Dominus Columbia are the only topic of conversation where Ossuary and N.O.A. engineers can be found.
What does this mean for players?
We will again be having open soft RP (Friday at 6pm-8pm) on The Khiron (The ship that brings people to The Rig) this is open to everyone not just ticket holders. Here you can talk with NPCs and other survivors about the state of The Rig
On Saturday there will be several “all participants welcome” events. These will happen in view of all ticket holders and people can take part in various ways. We aren’t revealing them all yet, but two of them are:
The DeadTalk (Ossuary Society Hosted research symposium) Players are encouraged to sign up to present their recent research on any topic to the audience and take questions. So come tell us about that strange experiment, that botched grave dive, the strange state of science in your home settlement. Particular focus will be given to discussing the current state of
The Red Flag Fleet has been sighted, or so the rumors say some one saw a ship with a red flag. True or not panic is more deadly than fire this far out to sea.
NPC’s will be in play to be questioned or bargained with and players should feel empowered to ping the cast in channels if they are looking to talk with specific NPC’s
Just like last game, you may encounter a number of zones of mechanics relating to environmental effects. The wonderful team At Dystopia Rising “The Whaling Shores” came up with these and in the spirit of Nation wide cooperation and consistency allowed us to use them. You can find the rules for these ZOMs can be found using this link.

Here you will find:
Zones of Mechanics: Choppy Water
This Zone of Mechanics simulates the challenge of managing a vessel during active combat in
rough seas. The focus is on maintaining control of the ship while responding to threats,
balancing movement, and coordinating actions between crew members. The encounter
emphasizes decision-making under pressure rather than granting any ongoing bonuses or
Resources.
Zones of Mechanics: Bitter Winds
Scope:Applies to open water winter scenes in the Wailing Shores. This zone adds environmental pressure without creating new abilities, currencies, or ongoing boons. All rolls use existing checks and outcomes already in play.
Zones of Mechanics: Frozen Waters
Scope: Applies whenever characters are immersed in open winter ocean water. This zone simulates cold shock, numbness, and the lethal pull of the depths without creating new abilities,
currencies, or permanent boons. All outcomes reference existing Body, Resolve, Fracture, and
Killing Blow effects.
Zone of Mechanics: Deep Water Hazard
This Zone of Mechanics simulates the challenges of swimming, holding your breath, and avoiding drowning when moving through deep water in dangerous conditions. The focus is on physical endurance, timing, and applying existing abilities to survive—without providing buffs, resources, or skill gains. Saltwise and Full Dead characters do not take drowning damage but may still be affected by other environmental factors in the scene.
